A Brief History of RangerTAP and its creation
It all started in August of 2023 when Aaron Goldstein met Rich Rose, a co-founder of Sentai Jackets. Rich was at Japan World Heroes displaying a prototype of his company’s Rescue Series jacket. Aaron was working the event as a guest handler and just happened to wonder over to Rich’s booth during one of his breaks. He was immediately in awe as before his eyes was the most amazing replica of Lightspeed Rescue’s jacket that he had ever seen. It was at this moment that Aaron’s love for Power Rangers as a child was reignited stronger than ever before. He began discussing all sorts of details with Rich about how the jacket came to be, his extreme attention to detail and more. It was when Rich offered to let Aaron try the jacket on that everything changed. It didn’t just look like the best replication, it was the best replication, and Aaron had to own it.
After a week had passed Aaron finally purchased the Jacket with Carter’s Red Patches as his color option. He then began the journey to create the most accurate Carter Greyson cosplay possible. Fueled by his hyper-fixation and extreme attention to detail Aaron began to comb through footage analyzing every last detail of Carter’s outfit until he stumbled upon an item he could not find nor buy: The Lightspeed Rescue badges! There was no company making them nor was there hardly any art or photos to reference aside from the show. It was at this moment that Aaron decided:
If he couldn't find it, he'd just have to make it.
Aaron then immediately contacted the two people he believed could help him in his journey to learn more about these items. For their privacy they will remain unnamed here but they know who they are and how essential their help was in making these designs.
They had given Aaron access to see and get measurements from some of the original show-used prop badges and equipped with that information Aaron began the artwork design process starting with each Ranger’s emblem. While some artistic liberty was taken, like the badges themselves, the artwork was made directly referencing the real props, only modernizing them to the standards of today.
After hours upon hours of research and design as well as much needed feedback from Rich during the process, the badges were finally completed. After many friends showed interest in the idea of the modernized badges Aaron was making as well as a push from a well trusted entrepreneur Aaron decided he would produce and sell the NFC Badges he had originally only planned to make for himself and his friends.
Now RangerTAP is launching officially with plans of even more designs to come. Thank you to everyone who has been apart of the journey and to everyone who is continuing forward with us…
